Fashion in Page: Stars en Dior

Stars en Dior (Rizzoli)

Stars en Dior (Rizzoli) - Natalie Portman

Stars en Dior
Text by Jerome Hanover, Foreword by Serge Toubiana, Introduction by Florence Muller
Rizzoli

Jean Seberg photographed at The Dior Boutique Paris about 1960

This book is a love letter to the cinema from the House of Dior, featuring legendary screen actresses in signature Dior. The Fashion creations of Christian Dior have been worn by the likes of Marlene Dietrich in Stage Fright, Lauren Bacall in How to Marry a Millionaire, Ava Gardner, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and, more recently, Charlize Theron, Penélope Cruz and Nicole Kidman. Before the successes that were to propel Dior to the forefront of the fashion world, the master couturier put his talent to work as a costume designer for  cinema, collaborating with famous filmmakers and creating timeless ensembles for legendary actresses. Following the untimely death of the designer, the House of Dior’s involvement with cinema continued, from 1958 to the present, with more than fifty films featuring the stars dressed in signature Dior. Combining fashion photography and never before published behind-the-scenes photographs, this  volume showcases Dior’s creations for film and the movie stars who brought them to life.

Fashion in Page

Bob Willoughby, Audrey Hepburn.
Published by Taschen
Multilingual Edition: English, French, German

In 1953, the same year 24 years old Audrey Hepburn won an Oscar for her flighty princess in Roman Holiday, Paramount photographer Bob Willoughby began a pictorial relationship with her that would span 14 years and six movies. These photographs, collected in Bob Willoughby, Audrey Hepburn capture the star in such a personal way as to illustrate how much more iconic she could be when just being herself.

Sam Wasson
Breakfast with Audrey - Colazione con Audrey
Rizzoli

Sam Wasson tells the story of a film, the story of a woman and the story of an era.
At 5 am on October 2, 1960, Holly Golightly is walking down Fifth Avenue in deserted New York, with dark sunglasses and a dress from Givenchy destined to become legendary.
It's the first scene of  Breakfast at Tiffany's and it is the beginning of  a new era in American society (and beyond). Sam Wasson recounts the birth, development and consequences of a single film.
